An Insider's Look

Here are photos of some of the eight awnings that can be seen lining 9th street on Fridays and Saturdays! To see them in person, walk underneath them on your trip through the market and take a moment to read the information about each individual installation that can be found on the posts supporting the awnings.

Here is a map showing the locations of all eight awnings (green) and the PRONTO space (yellow) at 920 S. 9th St, on the corner of 9th and Montrose.

Come join us every Saturday until June 11th for a walking tour where you can see all four community-based projects that make up Journeys South. Along with Different Paths, One Market, the tour will also showcase projects Start Here (an interactive media project), Neighbor Ballads (poems of the personal histories of seven South Philadelphia residents), and 7th Street Memory Box (a photo installation). The tour will depart every Saturday at 10am from the PRONTO space until June 11th.

Additional market stories, which will be filmed and archived, are being collected by high school intern Gabriela Loredo.
